Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Why can’t I make an appointment online?
Due to the high demand for testing, Modern Urgent Care is offering COVID Testing appointments for both insured and non-insured patients. However, unfortunately due to limited hours and staff we are unable to accept insured walk ins and all insured patients must secure an appointment online. Appointments are made on a first come, first serve basis and are made ahead of time so that our team has ample time to verify coverage for testing. If you are unable to make an appointment, the best time to check back is 5 PM-8 PM for next day appointments or 6 AM to 10 AM for same day appointments that are available due to cancellations.
  2. Can I come in as a walk in for COVID-19 testing if I have insurance?
No. As we are still functioning as an urgent care, we are accepting insured walk ins for patients seeking urgent care services (not patients specifically seeking COVID Testing). Insured patients seeking COVID testing must secure an appointment online.
  3. When will I get my results?
Results are provided same day. Our team works hard to get your results back to you as soon as possible. Your results will be made available the same day of testing, however may take as long as 8 PM.
  4. Is testing free?
No. Most of our accepted insurances cover costs related to COVID testing. For patients without an accepted insurance, as we are not a government-funded testing location, we are unable to offer no-cost COVID testing.
  5. I need a test for travel, is this test acceptable?
We offer the Rapid COVID-19 Antigen test (not the RT-PCR COVID test or NAAT COVID test), please check with your airline/destination regarding what type of test they will accept.
  6. Do you take Kaiser?
No. You would be subject to the out of pocket cost.
  7. What are my other options?
Alternatives for testing are CVS, Rite-Aid or Project Baseline. Please visit their website for more information. Modern Urgent Care is not affiliated with these entities.
  8. I keep getting an error, why won’t my appointment go through?
If you are receiving an error “looks like you’ve been seen with us before” and includes a reference number, please try scheduling an appointment as an established patient as past failed attempts may have created a profile for you, but did not secure an appointment.
