What can I expect at my visit?
* Effective October 21, 2024
An urgent care visit typically involves evaluation and treatment of medical conditions that require prompt attention but are not life-threatening. This may include illnesses such as colds, flu, infections, and minor injuries like cuts, sprains, or burns.
During an urgent care visit, a healthcare provider will assess your condition, ask questions about your symptoms, perform a physical exam if needed, and recommend appropriate treatment.
Treatment may involve medication, wound care, diagnostic tests, or referral to a specialist or emergency department if necessary.
Urgent care centers are designed to provide quick, convenient medical care outside of regular business hours or when your primary care physician is not available. The wait times at an urgent care center are generally shorter than in an emergency department, and the cost is often less expensive.
